A lot of us know the history of Honda and where it comes from, but not many people know where and how the Honda Logo came from. Here is a brief history of the Honda Logo.
1961 – 1969
The first Honda Auto logo was created in 1961 and remained with the company for eight years. It featured a dark burgundy rectangular font with a light blue and white element.
1969 – 1981
The logo was first redesigned in 1969. The shape of the rectangle was also changed, and the letter “H” was moved vertically.
1981 – 2000
The logo was refined and redrawn in the reverse colour palette, with the black “H” symbol replacing the white “U”. The new badge featured a more square and rounded shape, with a more rounded black frame.
2000 – Today
In 2000, the logo and the emblem were updated. The former got a more prominent and elegant look, while the latter got a more muted and monochromatic tone.
Even though it was long believed that Honda did not have a logo, it was still able to identify its products with the letter H.
The logo for Honda was first introduced in 1960s. It was initially used as a blurry image on the hood.
Soichiro Honda was an engineer and an inventor. He was the first to invent a piston ring.
The emblem got smaller and took on a more prominent place in the radiator grille during the middle of the 1960s.
